One of the most beautiful and wild parts of Ireland is the WEHST.
The Wehst consists of three counties that touch the Atlantic Ocean – Sligo, Galway and Mayo. Each county has its own quirks, but share a love of snack boxes and an obsession with winning an All Ireland title. Sadly, Sligo’s closest attempt at reaching Croke Park has involved ‘West Life’ playing there and Mayo would be considered stalkers if the Sam Maguire Cup was reincarnated as the deceased Sam Maguire.ย Galway, whilst performing better in sport is sadly still commonly referred to as “the place where ambition goes to take a nap”. ๐
Joking aside, you won’t find a more beautiful area of the country that the Wehst – with the obvious exception of Cork.
So, minus Cork, in my humble opinion “the Wehst is the (second) best”… but there’s no shame in coming second – JUST ASK MAYO ๐๐
