Home Alone – This is my House
Every year without fail, I love to catch up with the Mac Allisters’ and watch Kevin save Christmas.
Home Alone is like a time machine that transports us back to a place where we most felt the magic of Christmas – our childhoods. Making sure we were well behaved in the lead up to the holidays for Santa, writing our Christmas lists and feeling so excited to finish school for the festivities. It was magic!
These days, I am a parent so I get to live the wonder of Christmas through my seven year old daughter Nia’s eyes. One of our main things to do is to watch Home Alone and Home Alone 2. Her excitement fills me with such joy and for a brief time I can be a child too.
Our favourite line from Home Alone is, “This is my house. I have to defend it”. This heralds the booby-traps, hi-jinks and gives us the best Christmas comedy duo of all time – Marv and Harry. 😀
