The Nordie Tayto
Two years ago my life turned upside down. Up until that point I took comfort in the fact that the sky was (mostly) blue, rain was wet and that the sun seldom visited these shores. Then I came across a Tayto that wasn’t Tayto. The packet was yellow and Mr Tayto looked emaciated compared to his normal self.
That day I learned that there were two Tayto companies on this small island. Northern Ireland’s version was affectionally known as the “Nordie Tayto” by the locals and the Southern Tayto was known as the ‘free Stayto”. 😂
